The City of Douglas would like to invite the public to Govdeals.com to browse, shop, and purchase surplus items posted by the city and other government agencies. The site is an auction site and lists everything from A-Z ranging from automobiles to woodworking equipment. The purchasing department for the City of Douglas inventories and is responsible for the disposing/selling of surplus equipment and supplies through Govdeals.

Items that are deemed surplus by the mayor and commission are sold online on a regular basis throughout the year.  Surplus items are items that are no longer useable for service by the City of Douglas.

GovDeals provides services to government agencies so that the agencies can sell surplus and confiscated items via the internet.  Each agency has its own auction rules, and regulations may be subject to government ordinances.

To start shopping today, visit www.cityofdouglas.com/purchasing and click on the link for Govdeals.  Once on the Govdeals website, go to the search box and type “Douglas” and items the City of Douglas has for auction will appear.  Currently, surplus items from vehicle maintenance are listed.
