Mrs. Elaine Bailey Papadam passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016, in Athens, Greece, where she had lived for the last approximate 47 years.  She lost her battle with cancer, which she had suffered for 2 years.

Elaine Papadam was born January 14, 1944, in Douglas, GA, to the late W. H. (Bill) Bailey, Jr. and Bobbie Blocker Bailey.  She studied at Coffee High School, South Georgia College, and Georgia Southern College.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Papadam was preceded in death by her husband, Pythagoras (Pete) Padadam of Athens, Greece; brother, Robert H. (Bob) Bailey of Moultrie, GA, and a sister, Vivian B. Spivey of Douglas.

She is survived by a son, Retired Lieutenant Colonel Timothy P. Papadam (Carla) of Woodbridge, VA; Daughters: Sophia Papadam (Sakis) and Claire Papadam, both of Athens, Greece; six grandchildren and three step grandchildren.  Surviving in Douglas, GA are a sister, Joan B. Raulerson, and a brother, William Henry Bailey III. She leaves to also cherish her beautiful memory a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

 The funeral service and burial were in Athens, Greece October 23, 2016
