Frank Wesley Merritt, age 71, of Douglas, Ga. passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Merritt was born on February 16, 1945, in Waycross, Ga. to the late Leonard Merritt and Rose Lee Thomas Merritt.

Survivors include: his two brothers, Sherman Merritt of Waycross, Ga and Riley Merritt of Waycross, Ga.; two sisters, Erma Crews of Statesville, Ga. and Jean Turner of Waycross, Ga.; family with whom he lived, Virginia Morgan and the late Bud Morgan of Douglas, Ga.; sisters, the late Linda Nails, Joan Morgan of Douglas, Ga., Thelma Anderson of Nicholls, Ga., Deborah Lee of Bickley, Ga., and Rhoda Kirkland of Douglas, Ga.; brother, Wesley “PeeWee” Morgan of Blackshear, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 28, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. James Steed officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Ware County.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
