Mr. Franklin Rudolph Ragan, age 84, of Thomasville, GA passed away Friday, September 29, 2017, at his residence, in Thomasville, following an extended illness. He was born July 15, 1933, in Colquitt County, to the late Artie Franklin Ragan and the late Corby Washington Ragan. On December 27, 1959, in McDonough, he married his sweetheart, Juanita Anne Thacker Ragan.

Mr. Ragan attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton and Southern Technical Institute in Marietta. He served in the United States Air Force. He worked for Murphy Drugs and delivered pharmaceuticals for many years. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: wife of 57 years, Juanita Anne Ragan of Thomasville, GA.; children: Deborah Anne (Kip) Schoepke of Atlanta, GA., Carl Franklin (Tammy) Ragan of Douglas, GA., Laura Jon (Jeff) Hall of Thomasville, GA.; sister, Margaret Ragan of Thomasville, GA.; grandchildren: Elizabeth Ragan (Dustin) Treat of Thomasville, GA., Carl Franklin Ragan, Jr. and Jesse Preston Ragan both of Douglas, GA., Sarah Marie (Josh) Robinson of Albany, GA., Wendy Anne (Kenny) Lester of Leesburg, GA., Kevin DeWayne (Jesenia) Millner, Jr. of Fort Hood, TX; six great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A local visitation for Mr. Ragan was held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Ricketson Funeral Home in Douglas, GA. The visitation followed by a graveside service at Broxton City Cemetery where Rev. Andy Glover officiated.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the local arrangements.
