Eloise Thurman Spivey, age 98, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday May 20, 2018 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Spivey was born on August 12, 1919 in Coffee County, GA the daughter of the late Boyce Thurman and Lollie Mae Traynham Thurman.

Mrs. Spivey was owner of Eloise Beauty Salon and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Douglas, GA. She also worked at CRMC as a pink lady.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Allen Spivey; and sons: Jerry Allen Spivey and James Calvin Spivey.

Survivors include: sisters: Joyce Gillis of Nicholls, GA and Betty Burke and husband Horace of Broxton, GA; brother, Bobby Thurman of Swainsboro, GA; grandchildren: Chad Spivey and wife Leigh, Marci Hoffman and husband Gabe, Candi Young and husband Glenn, Ja Spivey and wife Melinda, Cadley Spivey and wife Sadie; great grandchildren: Josiah Hoffman, J.J. Hoffman, Karis Hoffman, Felicity Hoffman, Taylor Burch, Miles Young, Luke Spivey, Cameron Young, Reagan Young, Madison Young, Rylan Spivey, Caiden Spivey, Sarah Spivey and Daniel Spivey; daughter-in-law, Sue Lewis Spivey of Douglas, GA.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church where Rev. Shep Johnson and Rev. Ed Lycett officiated. The interment followed at Douglas City Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
