Gerald Joiner, age 86, passed away on Thursday May 31, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Joiner was born on November 18, 1931 in Irwin County, GA the son of the late William Joiner and Annie Waldron Joiner.
He was a retired Supervisor for Winn Dixie Stores, was a veteran in the United States Army serving during the Korean War and was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church.
Mr. Joiner was preceded in death by: brothers: Lester, Harvey and Junior Joiner; and sisters: Aline Roberts and Arlene Metts.
Survivors include: his wife, Luvenia Spell Joiner of Douglas, GA; sister, Melissa Horne of Cochran, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edsel Young. Interment to follow at Chatterton Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.
