Thelma Harper, age 88, of Waverly, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at her daughter’s residence in Waverly, Georgia following an extended illness. Mrs. Harper was born on September 30, 1929, in Douglas, Georgia, the daughter to the late Carlie Cooper and Minnie Lanell Clements Cooper.

She was an inspector for Excel Inc., an auto parts manufacturer for twelve years and was a member of Potters Wheel Holiness Church. She loved to fish and most of all loved her family.

Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by: her husband, Elijah Buddy Harper; daughter, Joann Dodge; sisters: Ethel Bracewell, Mary Ann Johnson, Eloise Johnson and Geraldine McDowell; brother, Carlie D. Cooper, Jr.; and grandchildren: James Russell Harper, Brandon Harper and Robert Scott Yarbrough.

Survivors include: daughters: Lynn Adams and husband Jesse of Waverly, GA and Nancy Durrance of Odum, GA; son, Jerry Harper and Mary Hamilton of High Springs, FL; 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Lamb officiating. Interment to follow at Salem Church Cemetery.
