Vinnin D. Harper, age 84, of Nicholls, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Harper was born on November 19, 1935 in Irwin County, Georgia, the son of the late George Jacob Harper and the late Lila Youngblood Harper.

Mr. Harper was a self-employed carpenter and was of the Holiness faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Harper, and a brother, Robert Harper.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Burrell Harper of Nicholls, GA; two daughters, Karen Harper Vining of Douglas, GA and Kristy Harper Moxley (Billy Jack) of Douglas, GA; son, Ronnie D. Harper of Douglas, GA; brother, Othel Harper of Douglas, GA; sister, Audrey Corbitt of Douglas, GA; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 20, 2020 from 12:30pm until 2:00pm prior to the service at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 2:00pm at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Chaney and Rev. Rocky Harper officiating. Kanler Cumbass will bring a eulogy. Interment will follow at Chatterton Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Vining, Rusty Harper, Kanler Cumbass, Tyler Metts, Patrick Spivey and Rocky Harper. Music will be provided by Vanessa Musgrove and Brandon Musgrove singing “Far Away” and “The Body Grows Weak” written by Vinnin Harper with Bonnie Musgrove on piano. Bonnie Musgrove will play prelude and postlude music.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
