Mr. James Edward “Eddie” Goad, age 71 of Douglas, passed away late Thursday night, September 24, 2020 at Irwin County Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Goad was born March 28, 1949 to the late Elmer James Goad and the late Alta Phipps Goad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Goad, Jr., a sister, Maggie Delorice Simpson and a grandson, Parker Michael Vetter.
Mr. Goad, a native of Monticello, KY, was a truck driver for GE hauling electrical combines. He had also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Goad was a member of Calvary Mission Holiness Baptist Church.

Sisters: Wilma Troupe, Carol Clayton, Penny Williams and Brenda Hutcheson
Grandchildren: Abby Vetter, Maddie Vetter, Calex Seawright and Palin Seawright
Step-grandchildren: Travis Day and wife Mindy, Ellie Hoopianna and husband Nick, Rachel Padget and husband, Trent Matthew Seawright and wife Jaycee and Michaela Stevens

The funeral service will be Monday afternoon, September 28, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Mission Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Chaney and Rev. Jody Silvers officiating. Calex Seawright will present a eulogy. The interment will follow in New Corinth Cemetery in Ben Hill County.
Active pallbearers for the service will be: James Troupe, Jason Troupe, Tim Williams, Ronnie Day, Anthony Lab and Eddie Goad, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Jimmy Moore, Sammy Snipes and Wendell Troupe
