Benny Crosby, age 81, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Satilla Hospice House, Waycross, Georgia. Mr. Crosby was born on August 31, 1939 in Coffee County, Georgia, the son of the late Chester Crosby and Edna Stephens Crosby.

 

Mr. Crosby was employed with Brooks Auto Parts for 47 years, was a member of the Georgia National Guard and was a member of Lone Hill United Methodist Church.

 

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Maggie Lou Crosby of Douglas, GA; two daughters, Susan Preston (Bill) of Douglas, GA and Carol Crosby of San Mateo, FL; two grandchildren, Lane Preston DuPont and Stephens Preston; several cousins.

 

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday October 28, 2020 at 11:00am at Lone Hill Church Cemetery with Rev. Mary Ann Braswell and Lori Howell officiating with James Polk giving the eulogy. Music will be provided by Frank Pridemore singing “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lone Hill United Methodist Church C/O of Maggie Crosby 4540 US Hwy 221 N, Douglas, GA 31533.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
