Mr. Hilton Purvis, age 85 of Willacoochee, passed away late Wednesday evening, May 26, 2021 at his daughter’s residence in Douglas following an extended illness. Mr. Purvis was born August 15, 1935 to the late Albert Purvis and the late Henrietta Cribbs Purvis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Patricia Ann Courdle and Angela Christy.

Mr. Purvis, a native of Coffee County, was a self-employed concrete contractor. He was a member of Willacoochee Church of God.

Survivors include:

His wife of 65 years: Lillie Lucille Kilgore Purvis of Willacoochee, GA

2 Children: Brenda Schulmeister of Douglas, GA
Milton Purvis of Willacoochee, GA

1 Sister: Dorothy Mae Taylor of Douglas, GA

9 Grandchildren: Kyle Purvis and Mathew Purvis both of Largo, FL
Crystal Schulmeister of Middleburg, FL
Tina Marie Neuhauser of Yulee, FL
Justin Jackson and Candice Christy both of Pearson, GA
Leann Knapp of Broxton, GA
Larry Courdle of North Carolina
Melinda Courdle of Willacoochee, GA

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and many Friends

The funeral service will be Sunday afternoon, May 30, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with his granddaughter, Tina Marie Neuhauser officiating. The interment will follow in Vickers Rural Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening, May 29, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Justin Jackson, Larry Courdle, Austin Courdle, Anthony Andrews, Mathew Purvis and Kyle Purvis.

Due to COVID-19, attendees are asked to observe six foot social distancing at the visitation, funeral service and interment. Please wear your mask for safety precautions and in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
