Karen Hernandez, age 45, of Willacoochee, Georgia passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Mrs. Hernandez was born on October 19, 1965 in Coffee County, Georgia the daughter of the late Hiram Hilliard, Jr. and Susie Mae Meeks.

 

Mrs. Hernandez worked as a store clerk at a convenience store and was of the Pentecostal faith.

 

Survivors include son, Robbie Lee Joseph Hilliard (Teresa) of Willacoochee, GA; 2 daughters, Anna Alvarado (Joe) of Willacoochee, GA and, Rosa Johnson of Douglas, GA; brother, Jimmy Newburn of Brunswick, GA; 6 grandchildren, Joanna Alvarado, Brooklyn Hilliard, Kyli Hall, Cahlani Johnson, Joe Alvarado and, Arias Johnson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Graveside memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Loy Burkett officiating.

 

Memorialization is by cremation.

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
