Penney Gail Minchew, age 44, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at her residence. Mrs. Minchew was born on February 1, 1977 in Douglas, Georgia the daughter of Glynn & Mattie Gail Vickers Stevens.

 

Penney worked with Williams Institutional Foods in the accounts payable department for 24 years and was a member of Northside Baptist Church, Douglas, Georgia.

 

Survivors include husband, Jason Minchew of Douglas, GA; son, Dillon Minchew of Douglas, GA; parents, Glynn & Mattie Gail Stevens of Douglas, GA; sister, Denise Mathews (Randal) of Douglas, GA; in-laws, Donald & Darline Minchew of Snipesville, GA; several other relatives.

 

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Douglas First Baptist Church with Rev. Ken White & Rev. William Pope officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery, Denton, Georgia.

 

Pallbearers will be Michael Hicks, Randy Rathburn, Ray Fussell, John Moore, Jammie Carter and Randa Mathews. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Williams Institutional Foods.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to; St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
