Mrs. Laverne Blankenship, aged 78, of West Green, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Blankenship was born on March 21, 1943 in Tifton, Georgia, to the late James and Katherine Goode Blankenship.

 

Survivors include: Son; James Deen of West Green, GA, four Grandchildren; Haley B. Deen, Miranda Barfield, Jason Blankenship (Adrienne), Michael Whitley (Shelly), five Great-Grandchildren; Waylon Blankenship, Jordan Blankenship, Ashton Whitley, Jeran Whitley, and Weston Whitley, Two Sisters; Brenda Stone (H.L.) of Pearson, GA, and Diane Howard of Douglas, GA, and one Daughter in Law; Tracy Blankenship. Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by her parents, James and Katherine Goode Blankenship, as well as a Son; Jimmy Blankenship.

 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 12:00PM to 2:00PM at Burkett Baptist Church.

 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 2:00PM, at Burkett Baptist Church, with Rev. George Carroll Paulk and Rev. Terry Chancey officiating. The interment will follow at Burkett Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Chip Wright, Jay Taylor, Randy Harrell, Randy Moore, Bryan Bowen, Anthony Bowen, Prentis Burkett, Don Lott, Rodney Mobley, and Marlon Smith.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all customers, guests, and attendees to wear medical grade masks at all times while in our facility, as well as social distancing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however the safety of our staff and those we serve are our primary concern. Masks will not be provided.
