Joe Brown Taylor, age 74, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Taylor was born on March 7, 1948 in Athens, Georgia, to the late William Taylor and Nettie Mae Gunter Taylor.

 

 

Survivors include: Daughter; Lucy Taylor of Douglas, GA, One Sister; June Deen Of Alma, GA, One Sister-in-Law; Betty Taylor of Douglas, GA, One Niece; Beth Taylor, Three Nephews; Bill Taylor (Laurie Ann), Jeff Deen (Lauren), and Brad Deen. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by parents; William Taylor and Nettie Mae Gunter Taylor, and a brother; Bill Taylor.

 

 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm, at The First Baptist Church.

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 4:00 pm at First Baptist Church with Dr. Rev. Donald Hattaway and Pastor Shep Johnson officiating. The interment will take place at a later date.

 

 

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sims Funeral Home or a charity of your choice.

 

 

Memorialization will be by cremation.

 

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
