The state of Georgia allows you, as an individual or a business, to decide how your tax dollars are spent. By contributing to Coffee Regional Medical Center (CRMC) through the Georgia HEART (Help Enhance Access to Rural Treatment) hospital program, you transform your next tax payment into a life-saving investment for the people of Coffee County.

Our hospital is one of 55 rural hospitals that qualify to participate in HEART, which allows Georgia taxpayers to receive a state income tax credit for 100% of the amount they contribute to hospitals like ours.

The process is easy and quick – just visit www.georgiaheart.org to sign up. From January 1 through June 30 of each taxable year, taxpayers can contribute up to $5,000 for individuals, $10,000 for married couples and $10,000 for pass-through owners.

At any time during the year, a “C” Corporation or trust shall be allowed a 100% Georgia income tax credit for contributions to RHOs equal to the contribution amount or 75% of the corporation or trust’s income tax liability, whichever is less.

Also, there is a new benefit for pass-through businesses, allowing a SALT (state & local income tax) limit workaround, coupled with a more generous HEART tax credit opportunity during the first six months of the year, per Georgia HB 149.

The 2023 funding cap is $75 million; however, it is very likely that all credits will be consumed even earlier in 2023 due to the program’s increasing popularity. Credits are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

At no cost to you, your support will make an essential, positive and lasting impact on our hospital and community. So, apply today and turn your tax dollars into treatment here at home!

For more information about the Georgia HEART rural hospital tax credit program or ways to support CRMC, please contact Walda Kight, Foundation Director, by email at  Walda.Kight@coffeeregional.org or by phone at 912-383-6910.
