Sara Jo Davis, age 85, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Mrs. Davis was born on May 19, 1937, in Coffee County, GA to John Irwin Slocumb and Sara Louise Taylor Slocumb.

 

 

Survivors include; Daughter: Elizabeth Curry (Tom) of Augusta, GA, Two Sons: Art Davis Jr. (Julie) of Douglas, GA and David Davis (Connie) of Douglas, GA, Six Grandchildren: Daniel Davis (Amanda) of North Port, FL, Lindsey Tucker (John) of Hanover, MD, Kevin Davis (Nikki) of Douglas, GA, Amanda Davis (Jaye) of Douglas, GA, Zachary Anderson of Douglas, GA and Rachael Anderson of Pearson, GA, Seven Great Grandchildren: Finn Tucker, Lucas Davis, Zoey Davis, Simon Davis, Nolan Davis, Jones Davis and David Albert, and several cousins.

 

 

The family will receive friends Friday, January 27, 2023 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Sims Funeral Home.

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2:00PM with a lie in state held one hour before the service at First United Methodist with Rev. James Sapp and Rev. Doug Walker officiating. Interment followed at the Douglas City Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Don Harrell, Mike Green, Tommy Watkins, Andy Pennell, Jimmy Johnson and Andrew Taft. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Sunday School Whitfield Class, Jimmy Roberts and Betty Royal.

 

 

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to First United Methodist Preschool or First United Methodist Project Munch.

 

 

Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.simsfuneralhome.org.
