Mrs. Velma Campbell McRae, age 93 of Douglas, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 4, 2023 at her residence following a short illness. Mrs. McRae was born January 11, 1930 to the late John Thomas Campbell and the late Nina Hamilton Campbell. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Earl Milton McRae and a son, Joel D. McRae. 

 

 

Mrs. McRae, a native of Madison County, FL was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Douglas. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

3 Children: Mary Lang and husband Richard Spancake of Nashville, GA 

Earl McRae of Douglas, GA 

Sandra Batten and husband Tom of Douglas, GA 

 

 

12 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren 

 

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and other Relatives 

 

 

The family will receive friends on Thursday morning, June 8, 2023 at the Chapel of First Baptist Church from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will be held Thursday morning, June 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of First Baptist Church with Dr. Don Hattaway officiating. The interment will follow at Satilla Memorial Gardens. 

 

 

The active pallbearers for this service will be: Josh Lang, Jonathan Lang, Jason Batten, Wesley McRae, Sean McRae, Connor Poitevint, Jacob Batten and Elijah Carver. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
