Inez H. Whitley, age 82, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on March 20, 2025 after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Owen Carter (OC) Herrin and lone B Giddens.

Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Lonny Jesse Whitley; one brother, Johnnie C. Herrin. Survivors include one son, Lonny (Sheila) Whitley of Alma; one daughter, Jeannie Amerson of Savannah; four grandchildren, Kyle (Kristy) Whitley, Stephanie (Rusty) Sears, Brayden Amerson and Brock Amerson; three great-grandchildren; Madison Mullis, AnnaLynne Sears and Maggie Sears.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, from 1:00PM until 2:00PM.

Funeral Services will be held at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, at 2:00PM, with Rev. David Davis officiating, and Ms. Jeannie Amerson as Special Speaker to bring the Eulogy. Interment will be held at a later date.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
