Several Trojans finish top 8 at Sectionals, qualify for upcoming state track meet

Six Coffee Trojans qualified for the state track meet by finishing in the top eight of their events at Sectionals. The Sectional meet took place over the weekend at Villa Rica High School.

The Trojan 4×100 meter relay team of Tyrese Woodgett, Travis Adams, Cedric McRae, and KJ DeBruce finished with a time of 42.97 seconds. Woodgett also qualified in the 100 meters with a time of 10.87 seconds.

Lady Trojan Kaloni Styles ran 15.25 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles for another opportunity at State. Sophomore Kashariyona White secured a spot in the 300-meter hurdles finishing with a time of 47.56 seconds.

The GHSA state track meet will be held in Rome on May 9-10 at the historic Barron Field – Maddox Track.

Others who competed at Sectionals were:

  • Travis Adams – 200 meters – 22:65 (10th)
  • Kenyon Livingston – 110 meter hurdles – 15.59 (9th)
  • Kenyon Livingston – 300 meter hurdles – 41.64 (10th)
  • Woodgett, Tre Smith, Adams, DeBruce – 4×200 meter relay – 1:32.03 (11th)
  • Ensley Crawford – 1600 meters – 5:32.12 (12th)
  • Ensley Crawford — 3200 meters – 12:36.05 (11th)
  • Kashariyona White – 100 meter hurdles – 15.80 (10th)
  • Christina Smith, Nicole Lloyd, Ella Edge, and Kaloni Styles – 4×100 relay – 52.11  (15th) and 4×200 relay – 1:49.24 (9th)
  • Kayden McCranie, Nelbi Ambrocio, Regina Lewis, and Amariyah Wallace – 4×800 – 11:49.96 (16th)
  • Iree Kennedy – long jump – 15’ 7.75” (12th)
