The Know Your Worth initiative was created in response to the tragic loss of students to suicide in recent years. The organizers of this event are proud to announce a two-day event dedicated to supporting student mental health. This initiative is part of a broader commitment to ensure the well-being of Coffee County students, ensuring an environment where mental health is prioritized, and support is readily available. On September 10 and 11, 2025 this event will take place in Douglas as part of the observance of Suicide Prevention Month.

Know Your Worth in conjunction with Family Connection is honored to feature Willie Spears, a renowned motivational speaker and advocate for mental health awareness. He will provide multiple presentations throughout each day with students across all grade levels within the Coffee County School System, delivering empowering messages that emphasize the importance of suicide awareness, self-worth, personal value, and making positive choices to name a few. Magnolia House and Resilient Georgia are also partners in this event and assisting in bringing Spears to Douglas.

Mr. Spears is expected to leave a lasting impact on the students while sharing motivational insights and affirming that “tough times don’t last, but tough people do!” He will reinforce the significance of integrity and character in overcoming life’s challenges, echoing the spirit of the event in knowing your worth. You are enough!

“We recognize that the mental health crisis among students is urgent and pervasive,” said Mr. Spears. “TWSE aims to equip our youth with the tools they need to understand their worth and make choices that promote their well-being.” The goal is for every student to feel valued and supported.

Willie Spears is an accomplished author and highly sought after motivational speaker who has taken the country by storm with his passionate, energetic, and hilarious approach to teaching life management skills. His energetic and engaging style has captivated audiences across the nation with an average of 20 presentations per month across multiple states. Willie has become a trusted source of inspiration as well as a leading voice in empowering leaders in their schools to provide safety for the staff, students, and communities.
