The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Economic Development Authority, welcomed a strong turnout of local officials, business leaders, and community members this morning, Tuesday, December 2, for the annual Eggs & Issues breakfast held at the Martin Centre Theater.
Attendees enjoyed breakfast provided by Chick-fil-A beginning at 7:30 AM, followed by the program at 8:00 AM featuring Georgia’s legislative delegation. State Senator Blake Tillery (District 19), State Senator Carden Summers (District 13), State Representative James Burchett (District 176) and State Representative Angie O’Steen (District 169), each provided updates ahead of the upcoming 2026 legislative session, discussing topics such as rural economic development, healthcare, infrastructure, workforce growth, and improvements impacting both the Douglas-Coffee County business community and the region as a whole.
The program also included remarks from Charles White, who attended on behalf of U.S. Representative Austin Scott, as well as Joel Wiggins, a lobbyist who has long supported the interests and progress of Coffee County. The Chamber expressed gratitude to its event sponsors — Coffee Regional Medical Center (CRMC), AgSouth Farm Credit, Georgia Farm Bureau, Carried Away Creations, and The Martin Centre — for their continued partnership and investment in local engagement opportunities. The Eggs & Issues event remains an important tradition designed to strengthen the connection between state leadership and the citizens they serve, helping ensure Coffee County’s priorities and growth remain top of mind at both the state and federal levels.
