An investigation at a Younge Fussell Road address in reference to missing items in a bedroom landed a 42-year-old woman in jail on burglary charges.
On February 3, 2026, a deputy responded to the house when a resident stated that there were several items missing from his daughter’s room, according to a report from the sheriff’s office. The first time that items were found to be missing was on January 30, 2026. The residents installed a video camera in the room afterwards.
On February 3, the camera sent a notification that someone was in the room again. The camera showed an individual identified as Emerald Anderson, 42, of Douglas, in the room. The report says that Anderson did not have permission to be in the house. Anderson is related to the complainant’s ex-wife.
The complainant noticed that his gun cleaning kit was on the floor of his bedroom and the power had been cut off to the home.
The investigation led officers to Anderson, who stated that she went to the home on January 30, according to the report. She said that she didn’t remember going to the home on February 3 – but she was sure that she didn’t take anything.
During the investigation, an officer found two curling irons in Anderson’s car. The curling irons were identified as some of the items that were missing from the complainant’s daughter’s room on January 30.
Anderson was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary in the 1st degree. She was taken to the Coffee County Jail and later released.
