Wiregrass hosts Educational Ministries dinner

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College recently hosted a dinner for local ministers.  Members of the college’s Christian Fellowship student organization, along with faculty and staff, held the dinner to share with the local ministers the educational opportunities offered at Wiregrass.

Faculty and staff shared how one would enroll, the requirements, what to expect and more. Nine pastors and/or church representatives from Coffee County attended the dinner, including Mark Mercer (College Avenue Church), Gregory Pope (Covenant Church), Ray Coleman (Smyrna Baptist Association), Glennis Coleman (Smyrna Baptist Association), Craig Johnson (The Lighthouse Church), Georgia and Van Henderson (Perpetual Praise and Worship), Anne Clark (Bethel Family Worship), and Bruce Bassett (First Baptist Church of Douglas).

“The purpose of the dinner was to share with our local ministers what opportunities Wiregrass has to offer their congregations and surrounding communities from high school students to senior adults,” shared Brooke Jaramillo, Director of Recruitment. “Our local pastors are often asked to assist individuals who are looking to better their current situation, so we wanted to provide them with information they could share as needed.”

The pastors participated in a round table discussion and shared ways they could disseminate the information and impact lives positively.  Wiregrass Tech’s mission is workforce development and impacting the local economy with educated and skilled employees.

Summer Semester for Wiregrass begins May 18. Free Application Day will be April 2.  For more information visit www.wiregrass.edu.
