Kiwanis Club honors local students

The annual Douglas Kiwanis Club Honors Night was held at the Flyin’ Cowboy Restaurant on May 26, during which several local students were recognized and given awards. 

Aubrie Anna Smith was recognized for her work as outgoing President of the CCA Key Club.  Loryn Brown was sworn in as incoming President of the CCA Key Club.  Aubrie Anna Smith was also given the Carroll A. Burch Award for her leadership at CCA this past year. 

Tiffany Lynn Morgan received the Kiwanis Club of Douglas SGSC Foundation Endowed Scholarship for outstanding scholastic achievement. Colleen Scott, SGSC work student, was honored for her dedicated work at the Mary Hayes Center over the past year. 

Adeline Thomason, CHS, Zach Ray, CCA, and Bailey Davis, CCA, received Christian Leadership Awards. 

Not present but also receiving the Christian Leadership Award was Jason Vickers, CHS.

Members of the Kiwanis Club congratulate them for their achievements and willingness to take on responsibility.
