The GBI arrested and charged Erik Otoniel Ramos Perez, age 24, of Pearson, with rape, aggravated child molestation, kidnapping, home invasion in the 1st degree, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, two counts of false imprisonment, tampering with evidence, and obstructing persons making emergency telephone calls stemming from an incident involving two children that occurred on Saturday, April 29, 2023. The Homerville Police Department requested the GBI investigate the incident after a 911 call was received regarding a child having been sexually assaulted at a home in the 400 block of Old Fargo Highway in Homerville. The Youth Council Jr. Commissioner Jeremiah Bazell was recognized for this month’s Youth Council spotlight. Jeremiah is the son of Gerald Bazell and Cynthia Lloyd. Smith attended the Georgia Middle School Championships at Parkview High School in Lilburn on April 21 and 22, 2023 and turned in one of the fastest times in both the nation and state for a 6th grader in the 3200 meters. There were over one hundred schools and track clubs across the state of Georgia. Smith competed in the 1600 meter run and the 3200 meter run. She completed the 1600 meter run in 6:03.88 and finished 34th out of…
