A routine traffic stop conducted on April 17, 2025, by a deputy with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office has led to the recovery of two stolen vehicles, both originally reported stolen out of Houston, Texas. The traffic stop occurred on Highway 149 near Aubrey Paulk Road after a gray Jeep Gladiator was observed operating with a canceled registration. Upon making contact with the driver, the deputy issued a citation and arranged for the vehicle to be towed by a local wrecker service. CCA Patriots senior infield and right-handed pitcher Jonathan Rutland will continue his baseball career at Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon. Friday morning, Rutland signed his letter of intent with the Barons at a ceremony with his family and teammates at CCA. Sandra was born April 1, 1971 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Wilda Lowe Raulerson and the late Alford Lowe. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Hobby and a nephew, Leon Maclin. Sandra worked for over twenty years as a photographer for Wal-Mart Corporation. On the evening of April 13, 2025, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a physical altercation between John Ashford and Cody Elijah Edge at a residence on Old Waycross Highway. According to statements obtained on scene, both individuals had been drinking throughout the day when a verbal exchange escalated into a physical confrontation. A multiagency operation in Enigma led the arrests of two individuals on drug trafficking charges. Specifically, officers and agents believe the suspects were trafficking fentanyl in South Georgia. On April 10, 2025, agents with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office conducted a joint undercover operation inside Berrien County with the assistance with law enforcement partners from the United States Postal Service Federal Inspectors Office, Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office, and the Nashville Police Department. The Coffee High Trojans traveled to Moultrie to compete in the last regular meet of the season. The Colquitt County Packers hosted Brooks County, Coffee High School, Lowndes County, and Thomasville.
