Mrs. Brenda Medders Carver, age 76, of Ambrose, Georgia, passed away Saturday morning, May 23, 2026, at her residence surrounded by family and friends. Brenda was born November 13, 1949, in Augusta, Georgia, to the late Silas Winnie Medders and the late Myrtice Griner Medders. Trojan drone soccer made Coffee High School history at the 2026 U.S. Drone Soccer Nationals at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Coffee entered Nationals as one of 24 teams, earning a Wild Card slot after finishing 3rd at the District V Tournament in Atlanta. Seeded 22nd, the Trojans opened against 11-seed Asheboro Blue from North Carolina and won in two sets. Coffee went on to face eventual national champion Cabrillo High School from Long Beach, California. South Georgia State College (SGSC) and Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) have entered into a course articulation agreement designed to create a smoother pathway for students pursuing a career in education. The agreement allows eligible students who complete the Associate of Science in Education at SRTC to transfer coursework toward SGSC’s Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Special Education. The partnership is designed to help students transfer credits more smoothly, avoid repeating coursework, and move easily from a technical college program into a bachelor’s degree program.
