John Cooper, age 83, of Hazlehurst, passed away on Friday February 15, 2019 at Hazlehurst Court and Care Center. Mr. Cooper was born on January 5, 1936 in Floyd County, Georgia, the son of the late Grady and Maudie Deems Cooper. He was a farmer and of the holiness faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Ann Cooper, Mollie Carter and Elizabeth Benefield; and a brother, Howard Cooper. The South Georgia State College Hawks took advantage of clutch shooting in the second half to defeat the first place Georgia Highlands Chargers 89-84 Wednesday night. The Hawks led by as many as nine points in the first half and took a 38-33 lead into the locker room. Mr. Osbin Harper age 81, of West Green, passed away Tuesday morning, on February 12, 2019, from an extended illness at his residence 1821 Wildwood Road in West Green. Mr. Harper was a retired prominent farmer in Broxton and West Green. Osbin loved spending his time with pet dog Charlie, family and friends.
