The South Georgia State College family was saddened to learn that one of its students passed away early Wednesday, Sept. 16 in a plane crash in Bacon County, Ga. Angel B. Wade, a 20-year-old freshman at SGSC, was a pre-nursing major. The City of Douglas has received a 2015 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the amount of $325,176 from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA), which will be utilized to improve aging and dilapidated sanitary sewer lines and alleviate problems associated with inadequate water service and fire protection.
