An employee with Rosewood Manor, an assisited living home in Nicholls, has been charged with one count of concealing a dead body after authorities located the remains of a male body adjacent to the facility’s property last Friday.
Diana Marie Malphus Jacobs was taken into custody following the incident last Friday evening, August 8, after telling authorities she was aware of the body being buried on the property. At the time, officials did not state whether Jacobs would be charged with a crime.
Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, along with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a search and excavation at an outbuilding located on the property of Rosewood Manor, 1107 Tanner Avenue, where the remains were found.
Officials with the sheriff’s office stated they had received a tip that the body of a male may have been buried on the property. The name and age of the deceased has not been divulged at this time, and it is unclear whether or not he was a resident of the facility. The official details of the individual’s death will not be known until a full autopsy is performed.
Jacobs is currently incarcerated at the Coffee County Jail and has been denied bond.
