Two Alma teenagers and one unnamed suspect went on a criminal spree Wednesday morning, but were ultimately thwarted in their thieving efforts by local and state police.

Officials with the Alma police department stated an officer observed three young men walking in a neighborhood near the Bacon County Middle & High Schools around 6:30 to 7 a.m. Wednesday.  Once the men saw the officer, each fled in separate directions.

APD was quickly assisted by deputies with the Bacon County Sheriff’s Office and troopers with the Georgia State Patrol.  While searching for the individuals, reports of entering autos and a burglary began to come into 911.  Officers were able to apprehend one of the suspects in the area, and another was captured shortly afterwards. The Alma Police Department is still seeking the third suspect.

Police said four vehicles and one business office were vandalized. A laptop, cellular phone, 12-gauge shotgun, .22 caliber handgun, .22 cal ammunition, personal identification, debit / credit cards, and an undisclosed amount of cash were taken.

Officers were able to recover all property known to be stolen, with the exception of one .22 caliber handgun.

The suspects are also believed to have committed an entering auto on W. 20th St. near S. Dixon St. during the morning hours of September 11, in which a .45 caliber handgun was stolen after the suspects shattered a truck window.

Timothy Wesley, Jr. (18) was the first suspect arrested, along with 18-year-old Bailey Williams.  APD officials state they are following leads on the third suspect.

Wesley and Williams each face five counts of entering an auto, weapons charges, at least one count of burglary, and obstruction charges.

APD urges everyone to not leave valuable items inside theie vehicles.
