Operation Christmas Child is a charity started by Samaritan’s Purse in which people pack shoeboxes full of gifts. Then, after a specific deadline, they are sent off to different countries around the world. The shoeboxes are then given to less fortunate children who likely would not be getting a Christmas gift other than the shoebox they receive. The organization’s purpose is to show God’s love in every gift given out. This past week, some  students from George Washington Carver Freshman Campus wanted to demonstrate that love as well.

The GWCFC Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members packed shoeboxes full of gifts for the organization, and they had a blast helping give to the children that would get their shoeboxes. The students also wrote notes for the child that would receive their shoebox package.

Avery Anderson, a student at GWCFC, stated that, “Operation Christmas Child was a great way to bring the school together.”

Much dedication and work was put into this generous project by the students and they enjoyed giving back.
