Mr. James “Jimmy” Johnson, age 92 years old, of Axson, Ga. passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his home, following an extended illness.  

 

 

He was born in Coffee County on September 20, 1930, son of Joel Palmer and Dura Alice King Johnson.  Since 1973, Mr. Jimmy made his home in Axson, where he and his wife, Joann, raised their family.  He worked as a territory manager with the John Deere Co. and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  After his retirement, Mr. Jimmy enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to spend time with his family.  He was a member of the Pearson Church and was preceded in death by his parents. 

 

 

Survivors include:

 

 

Wife:  Joann Faircloth Johnson of Axson, Ga.

 

 

Son:  Perry Johnson and wife, Lucinda of Axson, Ga.

 

 

Daughter:  Zara Johnson of Waycross, Ga.

 

 

Sister:  Jolene Dickerson of Dahlonega, Ga.

 

 

5 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, also survive.

 

 

Memorialization was by cremation.

 

 

Relihan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
