The undefeated Coffee Trojans dominated the Bainbridge Bearcats in just about every statistical category in Friday night’s 23-14 win at Jardine Stadium. The Trojans totaled more yards, more first downs, more plays, and, maybe most importantly, fewer penalty yards than the Bearcats.

Coffee racked up 424 total yards — most of which were on the ground — compared to Bainbridge’s 390 total yards. Leading the way offensively for the second week in a row was senior running back Fred Brown, who rushed for 171 yards on 28 carries. He also scored one touchdown, bringing his total for the year to three. Junior running back Tyrese Hansley had 12 carries for 87 yards — a 7.3 yard per carry average.

Tyrese’s older brother, quarterback Maurice Hansley, completed nine of 11 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown. Senior Anthony Paulk, primarily a defensive back who also plays a little offense, was Coffee’s leading receiver. He caught three passes for 42 yards and a touchdown. Pat McCall had four receptions for 29 yards while Bray Coe caught a pair of passes for 12 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, senior linebacker Jatavious Williams recorded five tackles (three solo, two assists). Junior defensive back Isaiah Johnson, senior defensive end Elgie Paulk, and Anthony Paulk all had four tackles. Elgie Paulk also had two sacks. Junior linebacker Chris Reed and junior defensive lineman Iverson Gifford also had a sack apiece.

The 2-0 Trojans are off this week but return to action next week on Friday night in Brunswick when they face The Bolles School (Jacksonville, Fla.) on neutral ground in the annual Border War. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
