On July 1, 2025, an officer from the Douglas Police Department investigated a robbery by sudden snatching call on North Pearl Avenue.

The incident report states that the officer went to the location and spoke to the victim who said that a female, later identified as Shyann Nicole Lundy, 42, of Douglas, snatched $100 out of his shirt pocket as he attempted to give her $5. The victim said that as she ran way, she dropped the money several times and picked it up. She ran in the direction of First Congregational Church on West Alunza Street. The victim followed Lundy. The report says that she went into some bushes behind the church and he confronted her. According to the report, Lundy pulled a knife on him and then she disappeared.

A witness who saw the incident take place corroborated the victim’s account. Lundy reportedly was living in an abandoned shed on North Pearl Avenue, the report says. Officers attempted to locate her but were unable to. Later on July 1, officers found Lundy and arrested her on robbery charges. She was taken to the Coffee County Jail where she remains.
