A 43-year-old Douglas woman was jailed after she allegedly threatened to shoot the father of her child when he attempted to pick up the child for a weekend visit as instructed by court order.

The incident report from the Douglas Police Department states that on July 11, 2025, the father of the child went to Amberwood Apartments to pick up the child for their every-other-weekend visit. The report says that when the father pulled up, he turned on his phone’s video camera. In the video footage, the mother, April Roberts, 43, of Douglas, is outside of the vehicle telling him to leave, the report says. It adds that the father never got out of the vehicle.

The father replies that he is there to pick up their child and Roberts states that she doesn’t care, the report says. Then, 22 seconds into the video, she allegedly says, “You want me to shoot you right now?”

Officers from the police department went to Amberwood Apartments and spoke with Roberts. She was arrested and charged with terroristic threats and acts. Roberts was booked into the Coffee County Jail and later released.
