Two 18-year-olds from Fitzgerald were arrested earlier this month after they allegedly damaged a vehicle with a baseball bat.
According to a report from the police department, an officer responded to a Cleveland Street address in reference to a criminal damage to property call. The officer spoke to the complainant who stated that two women had come to her house and busted the windshield and back glass out of her vehicle, a 2009 Infiniti.
The complainant had video footage of the incident, which showed a white SUV pull up to the home. Two women jumped out and hit the Infiniti with a bat. The complainant said she didn’t know the women’s names but knew that they might be at a Cotton Drive address.
Officers went to the location and found the suspects, who were identified as Apriana Griffin and Kelis Shelton. The bat they allegedly used in the incident was still in the vehicle, the report says. They were arrested and charged with criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree. They were booked into the Coffee County Jail and later released on $5,500 property bonds.
