Mrs. Denise M. Russo, age 70, of Douglas, Ga. passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following an extended illness. Mrs. Russo was born on June 5, 1953 in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Louis Frank Viola and Jean Irvin Chase. She had made her home in Douglas for many years and was a homemaker. Mrs. Russo enjoyed reading, cooking, going to the beach, her dogs, and especially loved her family and grandchildren. Mr. Darian M. Boone, age 51 years old, of Douglas, Ga., passed away, Monday, September 25, 2023, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga., following a courageous battle with cancer. Darian was born, January 20, 1972, in Miami, Fla., son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby and Mary Lois Jernigan Boone. He made his home in the Atkinson and Coffee County areas, as he worked with CSX Railroad Company as an engineer. The water line project on Bryan Street is expected to begin on December 13, 2023, and the City of Douglas will be closing roads associated with the project on Bryan Street. The purpose of closing and partially closing these streets is to ensure public and worker safety while the project is underway. Mrs. Marie Sears Mathews, age 69, of Douglas, Georgia passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, December 11, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Mathews was born Wednesday, August 11, 1954 in Douglas, Georgia to the late Roger Hugh Sears and the late Oda Carver Sears.
