Billy Kirkland, age 89, of Douglas, GA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA. He was born on March 12th, 1934 the son of Mr. Willis Mildron Kirkland Sr. and Mrs. Bertie Herrin Kirkland. Mr. Kirkland was retired from the Coffee County Board of education as a school teacher. Team A from Pierce County High School captured first place in South Georgia State College’s High School Mathematics Tournament hosted February 23 on SGSC’s Waycross Campus. A total of 74 students from Brantley, Coffee, Pierce, and Ware Counties participated in the two-part competition.
