Dorothy Vickers, age 91, of Wray, GA passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Tift Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Vickers was born on April 23, 1924, in Douglas, GA to the late Elmer Smith and Lelia Vickers Smith. The Satilla Regional Library System hosted special guests Sergeant Tim Allmond of the Douglas Police Department and McGruff the Crime Dog at the Douglas-Coffee County Public Library last week during story and craft time. The City of Douglas and Transwaste are offering a Community Junk Drop-off Day this Saturday, July 18, to help citizens get rid of their excess trash. A dumpster will be placed at the 9th Grade Academy at the corner of Pine Street and Gaskin Avenue from 8 a.m. to noon to offer residents a way to dispose of large, non-hazardous items and electronic items at no cost.
