Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and the City of Douglas Police Department will offer a handgun safety course for women on Saturday, March 14, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The course will cover firearms safety procedures, Georgia firearms laws, methods of safe carry and storage and proper loading and unloading. Mr. Charlie Nipper, Sr., age 81, of Douglas passed away Wednesday evening, February 11, 2015, at the Shady Acres Health & Rehabilitation Center, following an extended illness. He was born October 26, 1933 to the late Willie Nipper and the late Mary Carver Nipper. Linda Murray, age 67, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Speciality Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Murray was born on September 24, 1947. Survivors include: her husband, Clarence Taylor of Douglas, GA; son, Charles Greg Parham of Hope Mills, NC; daughter, Donna Lindsey of Douglas, GA; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Hebron Church Cemetery.
