Coffee County Schools is proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement by the Coffee High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) program. During the annual NJROTC Area Manager’s Inspection held Tuesday, January 27, at Coffee High School, Johnathon Shaw, Area 10 Commander for U.S. Navy NJROTC, formally recognized the Coffee High School NJROTC program as one of the top programs in America. The review took place at 10 a.m.in the Coffee County NJROTC Building and showcased the exceptional preparation, professionalism, and leadership of CHS cadets.
“This recognition speaks volumes about the discipline, leadership, and character of our cadets,” said Coffee High School Principal Van Allen. “It also reflects the dedication and high standards upheld daily by our NJROTC instructors.”
Superintendent Morris Leis and Coffee County Board of Education member Gene Wade were in attendance, along with numerous family members and parents who gathered to support the cadets. The Coffee High School Choir performed the National Anthem under the direction of Tanya Myers, setting a proud and patriotic tone for the event.
Local NJROTC Senior Naval Science Instructor Master Sergeant Robert Lane and Naval Science Instructor Gunnery Sergeant Rayford Gilbert were commended for their outstanding leadership and preparation of the cadets, guiding them through a highly successful and well-executed review.
“This honor reflects the very best of Coffee County Schools,” said Superintendent Leis. “Our students continue to lead by example, demonstrating excellence, responsibility, and service—qualities that will serve them well far beyond the classroom.”
