Students from CMS FBLA proudly represented their school at CTSO Day at the Capitol, joining hundreds of student leaders from across the state to celebrate career and technical education and student leadership development.
CMS members attended alongside students from fellow Career and Technical Student Organizations including CHS FBLA, HOSA, SkillsUSA, and FCCLA. The event brought together students who are preparing for careers in business, healthcare, skilled trades, leadership, and family and consumer sciences.
Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to:
- Meet with state legislators
- Learn about how government decisions impact education and workforce development
- Advocate for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs
- Connect with student leaders from across the state
For CMS FBLA members, the experience was both educational and inspiring. Students saw firsthand how leadership, communication, and career skills learned in the classroom translate into real-world impact. Speaking with lawmakers helped students build confidence while sharing how CTSO programs like FBLA prepare them for future careers.
“Events like CTSO Day at the Capitol show our students that their voices matter,” said their advisor. “They represented CMS with professionalism, leadership, and pride.”
The day highlighted the importance of CTSOs in developing tomorrow’s workforce. By participating in organizations like FBLA, students gain hands-on experience in leadership, teamwork, public speaking, and career readiness — skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
