Two individuals were arrested and jailed after they were allegedly seen at a home at least one of them wasn’t supposed to visit. One of the subjects, Christopher Jordan, 44, of Douglas, wasn’t allowed at the house due to a previous family violence charge. The other, Raymond Minor, 56, of Douglas, was charged with obstruction after he allegedly refused to cooperate with officers when they arrived. Former Pearson police chief Tanner Farmer, who found himself in the news in April when he abruptly resigned from the department then announced on social media that the entire police department had also resigned (that turned out to not be true), is back in the headlines. And once again, it’s for all the wrong reasons. Farmer, who lives in Waycross, was arrested Wednesday morning and booked into the Ware County Jail after an apparent domestic dispute. A 31-year-old Douglas man remains in the Coffee County Jail after he was arrested on cocaine charges last month. According to a report from the Douglas Police Department, Lorenzo Jamal Wright of Douglas was arrested after he allegedly fled an DPD officer who attempted to stop Wright for riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the road. The report states that at 2:45 a.m. on May 7, 2025, an officer saw Wright riding a bike on the wrong side of the road on Railroad Street at Fales Avenue. The news isn’t getting any better for the City of Pearson. Earlier this year, Mayor Robert Johnson was arrested on numerous felony charges and spent a long time in jail. Now it’s city councilman and mayor pro-tem Jeren Fullmore’s turn. Monday, Fullmore was arrested by deputies from the Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Atkinson County Jail. Fullmore, who plans to run for mayor of Pearson, was arrested for allegedly breaking into the Pearson Police Department in an attempt to remove alleged incriminating documents from his personnel file. When most people are traveling on a dirt road, they’re probably not thinking about the possibility of a serious traffic accident. But crashes can happen on dirt roads and they can be severe. According to a press release from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, two individuals, a 23-year-old and a 15-year-old, were taken to Coffee Regional Medical Center on May 4, 2025, at around 2 a.m. with gunshot wounds. Initially, they claimed to be victims of a drive-by shooting but the investigation showed that they were allegedly the aggressors. A May 6, 2025, incident that started out as a simple traffic stop on a four-wheeler allegedly being driven illegally on North Peterson Avenue quickly turned into a theft investigation. A report from the Douglas Police Department states that three police officers saw a white Polaris Sportsman four-wheeler being driven on North Peterson Avenue near the OYO Motel just after 10 p.m. on May 6.
