Tuesday night’s 4-1 loss to the Houston County Bears at Charles Wilson Field in Douglas was a tough one for the Coffee Trojans. When you have a team as good as the Bears on the ropes, you’ve got to put them away. If you let them hang around, they’ll make you pay. And the Trojans let them hang around. Coffee County sheriff’s deputies discovered suspected illegal drugs in a vehicle they stopped that belonged to an individual with active warrants. The suspect, identified as Herman Christian King, 27, of Nicholls, was arrested and remains in the Coffee County Jail. According to an incident report from the sheriff’s office, the stop took place on March 4, 2026, at around 7:30 p.m. Deputies saw a blue 2010 Ford Ranger that they knew King often drove. Detectives from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office are looking for two individuals wo allegedly went into a local Dollar General and pulled off a coordinated heist of . . . laundry detergent. According to a release from the sheriff’s office, the two people pictured here worked together to distract staff and then steal a basket full of the aforementioned detergent. Detectives are asking the public to help identify the alleged thieves and/or provide information regarding their whereabouts. A traffic stop for failure to dim headlights landed a Douglas man in jail on illegal drug charges. According to an incident report from the Douglas Police Department, on March 5, 2026, at 11:20 p.m., two officers were traveling on Pine Street near South Coffee Avenue. The officers noticed a vehicle traveling on South Coffee Avenue with its high beams on. The officers initiated a traffic stop on the driver, identified as William Ronald Harrell, 39, of Douglas. Games one and two couldn’t have been more different on Friday night in Warner Robins. The Northside Eagles defeated the Coffee Trojans 3-2 in the first game of a region doubleheader. The Trojans flipped the script in game two and won 15-0 in six innings. For the third time since November and the second time this year, Kayla Danielle Gruber, 36, has been arrested and jailed for allegedly showing up on Lakeshore Drive and harassing her ex-husband. The latest incident occurred around 8 p.m. on March 7, 2026. Officers from the Douglas Police Department responded to Lakeshore Drive in reference to a suspicious person. A 48-year-old with a lengthy record remains in the Coffee County Jail after deputies found suspected illegal drugs in his vehicle during a March 3 traffic stop. According to a report from the sheriff’s office, a deputy stopped Gabriel Benjamin Carelock, 48, in West Green for speeding around 8 p.m. on March 3, 2026. When asked to get out of his vehicle, Carelock did but when he was told that a drug detective was on the way, Carelock became nervous and jumped back in the vehicle, the report says. Two women were arrested and one remains at large following an altercation at Georgian Woods Apartments earlier this month. The incident happened around noon on March 6, 2026. According to a report from the police department, an officer responded to an assault call at the apartment complex.
