A South Georgia State College police officer was arrested on family violence charges during a domestic dispute late last month, according to an incident report from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office. Defensive lineman Kentavius Street, who began his high school career at Coffee High before moving to North Carolina, has signed a free agent deal with the Chicago Bears. An argument over rent, returning keys, and an allegedly stolen cell phone landed a Douglas woman in jail earlier this month. According to a report from the Douglas Police Department, a DPD officer responded to a West Walker Street address in reference to a theft call. The South Georgia State College Hawks softball team was involved in a four-vehicle accident in Thomasville on Wednesday while they were on their way to games against Thomas University. According to witnesses, while in Thomasville and stopped in traffic, a Thomas County Fire Department truck rear ended one of the SGSC buses, which ran into the back of another SGSC team van. The Coffee Lady Trojans’ 2025-2026 season ended Friday afternoon at the Georgia State University gym with a Final Four loss to the Milton Lady Eagles. Milton won 59-48. Milton’s defense proved a little too suffocating for Coffee. The Lady Trojans had trouble with the Lady Eagles’ zone and never could find their footing offensively.
