South Georgia State College (SGSC) recently held its Spring Commencement ceremony which included the graduation of its first class of students from the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET) program. On June 4, 2025, deputies with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on James Terrell Wright after observing him unlawfully operating a Multipurpose Off-Highway Vehicle on a public roadway, in violation of Georgia law O.C.G.A. 40-6-362. During the stop, deputies observed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle, which prompted a probable cause search.
