Deputies from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to two separate reports of vehicle theft on Thursday, November 13, 2025. At approximately 2:00 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Highway 32 West after a Chevrolet Tahoe was reported stolen. Shortly thereafter, deputies responded to Donnie Harper Road regarding an attempted theft of a Ford Ranger. The suspects fled after being confronted by the property owner. On October 3, 2025, the Douglas–Coffee Drug Unit (DCDU) executed a search warrant at the 500 North Apartment Complex in Douglas following a brief narcotics investigation. During the operation, agents located methamphetamine and several unprescribed Roxicodone tablets in the possession of Carrie Wright, 48, of Douglas. Wright informed investigators that the tablets were pressed fentanyl pills. All suspected controlled substances have been submitted to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Crime Lab for official analysis. After a long investigation into a known methamphetamine distribution channel in the Oak Park area of Coffee County, locally referred to as the Sand Ridge, law enforcement officers have made an arrest. On November 9, 2025, a Douglas police officer responded to a report of an armed robbery that allegedly occurred at Georgian Woods Apartments. After speaking with both parties involved, the officer determined that an armed robbery had not taken place. One individual, however, still went to jail on battery charges.
