In 2014, the City rolled out its “See Something, Say Something” campaign for the police department. The campaign has been so successful, that it is being extended to include reporting potholes, reporting electric outages and other related items for the city. “We are expanding this campaign in the hopes that citizens will begin reporting needed repairs to the city,” say City Manager Terrell Jacobs. “See Something, Say Something” goes beyond law enforcement related activities. The pastor of First Congregational Christian Church, Matt Rutland, spoke at Coffee Middle School’s first prayer breakfast of 2016. Pastor Rutland shared that he is an example of a wayward student who was reached by a teacher who stood firm in the Word. Douglas – Coffee County Parks and Recreation recently received a $1,000 grant from Seven Rivers Resource Development & Conservation Council, located in Baxley, Georgia. South Georgia State College’s (SGSC) men’s and women’s swim teams excelled Saturday, Jan. 9, during the South Georgia Sprint Meet held on SGSC’s Douglas Campus.
